Expect Your Office to Be All-inclusive

At Bamboo and many co-working spaces, your pricing will be and should be relatively "all inclusive". This means that utilities, cleaning, coffee, kitchen access should be free, though it is typically for meeting rooms to be limited by an hour packages. It is also typical to see extra fees for parking, whether that's in a lot or garage nearby or included in the location. Generally, a co-working office is still less expensive than choosing a long-term lease. But it's important when shopping to ask what is included.

Ask for Furniture Upgrades or Removals

At Bamboo, we provide you with comfortable furniture options and the flexibility to design your office too. Sometimes our office members will remove all the furniture and choose to bring in their own or setup a studio like atmosphere. We are happy to accommodate all furniture requests and work with our members as they'd like to setup the best office experience for them. We also allow office members to add their team logos to brand their suites for their team. In Ann Arbor, for example, several larger offices teams have brought in their own TV's, couches, or chairs or even recording equipment to add to their furniture setup that's included -- utilizing or removing some of our furniture as they like to compliment their team's needs.

Ask about Number of Desks for Keys

Coworking offices are different than a traditional lease, in that they often limited a number of desks or keys/passes to the building to share with your team. However, Bamboo's spaces are flexible and will often craft a membership option that works for your team, or allow your team members to share and rotate in on different days. It's always good to have a discussion so you can keep your private office but scale up easily as your team grows.

Expect Rates to Vary: Month to month, vs 1 year or 2 year

While a private office at a co-working space like private offices at Bamboo Ann Arbor is typically much more affordable than a long term lease, rates do vary if you choose month to month versus one year. Window offices always go the fastest and it's the number one request we get in a Bamboo location. In co-working spaces, members often move around, downsizing or upsizing with the season. So, if you don't see an exact office you love you can still move in and often move around quickly. Members get the first picks of window offices. Ask to be on a wait list anytime you're team is growing or considering making an office change.
